Viridis supporting remote communities

You may have seen on our LinkedIn page that we were able to donate 2,000 surgical masks to regional communities in Qld and NSW.

We had the opportunity to source masks from SupplyAus Pty Ltd, a 100% indigenous owned and operated company right here in Brisbane, and couldn't miss the chance to help.

With the surge in demand for medical PPE over recent months, many remote community clinics have been unable to access desperately needed masks for their clinical use, both now during the pandemic crisis and for the upcoming flu season.

Knowing that we couldn't help everyone with our limited supply and not knowing where the greatest need was we decided to give back to the communities that support us by engaging our services.

A number of those are remote and high risk, so it was considered a good place to start. Community clinics in the following areas were supplied with masks:

  • Kowanyama

  • Normanton

  • Weipa

  • Napranum

  • Cloncurry

  • Walcha

  • Stanthorpe

  • Tenterfield

  • Brisbane

We were delighted to be able to make a difference and to receive the following comments back:

"I'm surprised you didn't hear us squealing with excitement from here when they arrived!"

"We can only get 50 masks at a time, and we've had one delivery in 6 weeks. This has made such a difference to our clinic and community"

"We couldn't believe that you sent us the good masks with elastic - we're so thankful!"

"The masks will come in very useful and thank you for your support of the indigenous mob up here”

"It was even better than Christmas day looking at those masks. Thanks again from everyone at the Clinic!"

All the team at Viridis are grateful to be able to practically support the communities that support us.
